Many shades of green
Shift in the morning sun's rays;
Shadows through the leaves.

Across the slate sky
Two wild geese fly honking--
Flapping silhouettes.

Wind and water mix
In the stream next to my house,
Rushing and swollen.

Next to white seed puffs
New yellow dandelions--
Cycles within Spring.

With fur glistening
Pooch goes for a spring time swim
As good as it gets.



Bright drop of sun hangs
From dry ancient milkweed pod.
There's nothing inside.

Come and Gone so Soon?

White dogwood flowers
Lie scattered on the green lawn--
Come and gone so soon?

Small yellow droplets
Burst by the side of the road--
First dandelions.

In a sudden burst
Sun breaks out upon the road
Etching quick shadows.

Mud puddles today
Reflect the thick cloud cover
And the tall mute trees.
