.

spring grass -
the cows turn up their noses
at hay

.
travelers asleep
on airport benches -
spring blizzard
.

spring peepers
all at once the chorus

stops

milk jug
swirling in an eddy . . .
spring freshet

peeling paint
flakes off the old farm house -
spring breeze

traffic light -
the next driver singing with all
her windows down

.
spring growth -
the sugar maples sprout
plastic buckets
.

.
spring tryouts
under his mattress a new glove
- sleepless night
.

.
the smell of
anhydrous ammonia -
farm ruts
.

.
spring -
time to bury
the dog
.
