still kind of struggling with this one--we see all kinds of flotsam and jetsam in the creek behind the house. that's the image sticking in my mind. plastic milk jugs (the ones from the store) are very common pieces of trash when the water's high.
but I don't like 'milk jug.' how about:
empty water bottle swirling in an eddy . . . spring freshet
to me its the emptiness of the jug/bottle versus the immense rush of water in the creek, and the calm of the eddy versus the rush of the creek . . . anyway, something still doesn't feel right about this one.
alternatively:
empty water bottle swirling in an eddy . . . water's roar

Love it, Jim. I grew up in dairy country. Ours were metal cans, not jugs, but the experience is the same.
