I wonder if you could get away with using a pronoun?

last evening
.
For grammatical correctness, 'reminding me' is preferable, but i thought i would use a syllable less and let the reader imagine, whether it is 'reminding me, us, or them'.
It was a deliberate omission, which obviously is wrong.
I will correct it.
